North Atlantic House is a cultural center where you can experience the North Atlantic culture, research and business. Here, people from the North Atlantic, Denmark and the rest of the world and inspire each other.

The opening of the North Atlantic House is the start of experiences that broadens your horizons and gives new insight. The house has four exhibition where you get the North Atlantic culture into your skin.

Beautiful surroundings

The context of the cultural center is a large, listed warehouse from 1767, which for more than 200 years was the center of shipping traffic between the North Atlantic and Denmark. Today, with this product traffic is switched to other ports, it is exchange of culture and art from the three former colonies, Greenland, Faroe Islands and Iceland, which characterizes the historic warehouse.

The art from the three countries are often inspired by the countries' landscapes, lights, nature sounds, and often have a strong visual, bodily and musical expression.

The maritime and rustic warehouse style with raw plank floors and exposed beam structures, forms a very unique and beautiful contrast to this art - be it as a musical background or frame a contemporary art exhibition.

The Café at the North Atlantic House

In the cafe you can buy Icelandic candies, seaweed, dried fish, Greenland snaps, Faroese beer or blåbærte, birkete and ship biscuits.

All this and more can be experienced and have first impressions of the unique surroundings at Christianshavn waterfront. The warehouse is also home of the culture café, as well as the ** Michelin restaurant Noma, which is a tribute to the Nordic kitchen.

The North Atlantic House also keeps Greenland and the Faroe Islands Representations and Embassy of Iceland and to the three countries' tourism board.
