This is the main points of a story about two libraries, which became one.
University library has existed for more than 500 years and has been split a few times. The Royal Library has existed for more than 300 years but has mostly been kept together.
In 2005 become University Library and the Royal Library at one institution with the name "The Royal Library, National Library and Copenhagen University." The aim was - and is - to strengthen and coordinate library services of the University of Copenhagen. That the two libraries were merged into one large institution.
